Thursday’s high school roundup/scores: Nate Reynolds (32 points, 22 rebounds) powers Bourne victory

Nate Reynolds collected 32 points and 22 rebounds as Bourne (8-1) won 73-57 over South Coast Conference boys basketball opponent Old Rochester.

In a Mayflower Athletic Conference  game, Patrick Jackson finished with 16 points and nine rebounds while Jayden Fraser added 13 points to lead South Shore Tech to a 76-36 victory over Bristol Aggie.

In the Boston City League, Senior Francisco Bailey scored 20 points while sophomore Krem Amparo finished with a double-double (13 points, 15 rebounds) as Latin Academy topped O’Bryant, 59-32.

Andrew Karoma scored 23 points as Lynn English defeated Chelsea 67-61 in the Greater Boston League. … Deshawn Rucker netted 23 points as Lynn Classical won 61-57 over Revere.

Sam Bishop had 16 points as Duxbury won 65-50 over Patriot League opponent Hingham.

Girls basketball

In the Tri-Valley League, Megan McNamara netted 15 points while Ruby Roslonek added 10 points as Dedham (6-3) topped Norton 44-39.

In a nonleague matchup, Evelyn Diaz scored 11 points to lift Lynn Classical (8-2) past Chelsea, 66-17. … Kailey Sullivan dropped a game-high 24 points and Alaysia Drummonds had a season-high 16 points as Foxboro toppled Wellesley 60-25.

Maddie Oliver (19 points) was one of 11 different scorers as Norwell (8-1) defeated Weymouth 67-19. … Kat Cheesebro dropped 31 points as Dartmouth (9-0) defeated Greater New Bedford 62-46.

Girls cross country

Boston Herald All-Scholastic Greta Hammer of Needham was named the 2024-25 Gatorade Massachusetts Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Hammer is the first Gatorade Runner of the Year to be chosen from Needham.

The junior won the Division 1A state meet this past season with a time of 18:13.91, breaking the tape more than 43 seconds ahead of her next-closest competitor and leading the Rockets to the team title.

Hammer also won the MIAA Meet of Champions by nearly 14 seconds and paced all Massachusetts runners by taking 25th at the national NXN Final and finishing second at the NXN Northeast Regional, earning First Team All-Region honors in the process. She clocked a personal-best 17:31.97 in winning the Bay State Conference title in October.

Football

Wilmington named Joe Cavanaugh as its new head football coach, replacing Craig Turner. Cavanaugh previously served in a similar capacity at Lowell Catholic over the past two seasons.
