It’s called “scorched earth” – an army, usually defeated, destroys everything in its path as it retreats, leaving the victors with nothing to sustain themselves or rebuild the shattered society the losers are abandoning.

Saddam Hussein did it as his Iraqis were leaving Kuwait in 1991, blowing up the oil fields behind him. The Russians did it as they retreated before both Napoleon and then the Nazis before they regrouped. Gen. Sherman was winning when he destroyed Georgia on his march to the sea in 1864.

But what Dementia Joe Biden’s caregivers are doing is something new – since Nov. 5, the Democrats seem to be intent on inflicting a “scorched earth” revenge on the Americans who voted their insane party out of power.

Joe Biden has single-handedly put the “lame” back in “lame duck.” Actually, he’s capitalizing LAME. Biden is a lame duck’s lame duck.

He’s delivering a series of farewell speeches as he dodders out of the door, wobbling off to the memory wing of an assisted-living facility somewhere.

But until next Monday, he’s been on a farewell tour, which seems even less appropriate than every other catastrophe he was the frontman for during his disastrous four-year reign of error.

I mean, wrinkly rock stars can have farewell tours, because they still have fans. And once upon a time, they had greatest hits that people still remember fondly. Did Joe Biden ever really have any fans or any greatest hits? Is Biden leaving behind any fond remembrances anywhere?

Biden delivered his foreign policy adios on Monday, and it was a real corker. Not just because he said “Austria” when he said “Australia” and “overdoor” when he meant “overdose.”

How about this brag:

“I put together one of the most competent foreign policy teams in American history?”

Antony Blinken? Jake Sullivan? John Kerry?

Tonight is Biden’s farewell address to the American people. It’ll be on TV – and they wonder why nobody watches prime-time TV anymore, broadcast or cable. I know I won’t be watching it, and I doubt you will be either. Thank God for streaming.

Consider some of Biden’s recent attempts to wreck the country even more than he did before the people spoke, damn them.

Last month, he commuted the sentences of 1,500 federal felons, including murderers and rapists, and pardoned 39 others.

He gave the corrupt oligarchs of Ukraine another $3.4 billion in December, another $500 million this week, then announced to fire-ravaged Americans in California they will be receiving $770 – “one time,” he added.

He canceled another $4.8 billion in student loans handed out to shiftless hippies, with the bills being transferred to taxpayers who work for a living, i.e., they voted for Trump. That makes a total transfer during his presidency of $183 billion from the working classes to the non-working classes, just in student loans, never mind the trillion dollars or so for illegal-alien welfare.

Last week he gave federal workers yet another phony-baloney day off – to “mourn” the passing of Jimmy Carter, who left office 44 years ago.

He lied about how he’d never pardon his worthless crackhead bagman son – and then did so, once the election was lost.

Two days after the resounding rejection of his party in the election, he extended a sanction waiver that allowed the savage genocidal mullahs in Tehran to grab yet another $10 billion to finance their Muslim terrorist aims.

He lied about reducing the number of illegal aliens he’s allowed into the US and go on welfare and committing unspeakable crimes against Americans.

On Friday, he even allowed 1 million of the illegals to remain in the US for another 18 months, the vast majority collecting handouts in one form or another while trying to get pregnant to have an anchor baby that will keep them on welfare for the rest of the grifting lives.

While US, UK and Israeli warplanes were bombing the Houthi terrorists in Yemen who are menacing Western ships in the Red Sea, Biden simultaneously decided to release 11 Muslim terrorists from Guantanamo Bay who just happen to be… Yemenis.

After the American people ended Democrat control of the Senate, he used the lame-duck period to jam through another two dozen or so far-left judges onto the federal bench.

He signed a deal with a leftist public-sector union allowing 42,000 employees of the Social Security Administration to continue basically not coming to work until 2029.

He banned off-shore oil drilling in more than 625 million acres, which will at least temporarily hamstring Trump’s ability to fulfill his wildly popular campaign pledge to “Drill baby drill.”

On Friday night, he handed out another $5 billion in “infrastructure” projects, including another $165 million for EV charging stations, after earlier earmarking $5 billion in 2021 for charging stations, seven of which have actually been put into operation.

Seven charging stations, for $5 billion.

He lied and said that in foreign policy, he’s leaving Trump “a strong hand to play.”

Yeah, mostly threes and fours.

He said he’s leaving the economy “stronger than ever.”

He claimed that the inflation rate was 9% when he took office. (It was 1.4%.)

He lied when he said he could have beaten Trump. (Then why was he deposed?)

He lied when he said Kamala could have beaten Trump. (Then why did she lose?)

It’s a humiliation fest in D.C. these days for Democrats. But as atrocious as the Democrats’ performance was at Pete Hegseth’s Senate confirmation hearing yesterday, I have a feeling Joe Biden will be even more appalling this evening.

Biden and the Democrats are scorching the earth all right. They just don’t realize, it’s their own future prospects they’re trashing.
