BOYS BASKETBALL

Jah Stephenson exploded for 31 points, and Matt Sherry chipped in with 11 points as Durfee (5-1) defeated Dartmouth 54-48 in the Southeast Conference.

Carson Gretz caught fire for 33 points to guide Newburyport (8-1) past Lynnfield 65-54 in the Cape Ann League. … Alex Menegoni contributed a triple-double (23 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), and AB Labell scored 24 points (including six three-pointers), grabbed 13 rebounds and supplied eight assists as Hamilton-Wenham came back to earn a thrilling 81-77 overtime win against Georgetown.

Thomas Edwards (21 points, eight rebounds), Travis Guillaume (16 points) and Nyisah Miranda (11 points, 17 assists) paced Avon during a 72-39 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Tri-County.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Engy Bingham notched 1,000 career points with 27 on the night as Lynn Tech defeated Nashoba 60-18 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.

In a nonleague matchup, Charlotte Adams-Lopez tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists as Bishop Feehan (8-1) topped Walpole, 64-41. … Chloe O’Brien (17 points) and Lily Martinez (15 points) fueled things offensively, as Malden Catholic rallied from a 17-point fourth quarter deficit to shock Arlington Catholic in overtime, 52-50. … Muji Vader scored 22 points to power Minuteman (6-1) to a 45-15 win over Notre Dame (Tyngsboro).

Amelia Crowe put up 19 points, while Sophia Bellacqua added 11 points as Pentucket (7-2) beat North Reading 42-35 in Cape Ann League play. … Anna Gardner tallied 18 points as Manchester-Essex rolled to a 57-22 win over Ipswich. … Sadie Gamber and Asa Labell scored seven points each as Hamilton-Wenham defeated Georgetown, 45-36.

BOYS HOCKEY

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Jake Costa erupted for five goals, while Jack Baker (goal, three assists) and Matt Costa (goal, three assists) each finished with four-point outings as Haverhill rolled to an 8-3 victory over Lowell.

Jonathan Sullivan sniped the game-ending goal in overtime, as Marshfield (6-2-1) rallied to knock off nonleague opponent Archbishop Williams, 3-2.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Riley Loveland paced her team with a hat trick, while Alex Herbert registered another shutout for Austin Prep during a 5-0 win over the Hoosac School in the Independent School League.

Ava Landry scored twice and dished an assist as Dedham (4-5) bested Ursuline 5-0 in a nonleague matchup. … Callie Crean netted two goals as Hingham rolled to a 7-1

win over Norwell/Scituate/Abington. … Kelsey MacPherson potted her second goal of the game to earn the win with 55 seconds remaining for Hopkinton/Dover-Sherborn in a 3-2 victory over Wayland/Weston.

Kayla Leonard buried the winning goal in overtime to lift Marshfield to a 2-1 Patriot League win over Plymouth.
