Anthony Edwards receives another fine, Timberwolves lose Shannon Jr.

The fines keep piling up for Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards. This one he earned in full, fined $50,000 by the NBA on Monday for “making obscene gestures toward a game official.”

Late in the third quarter of a 127-125 loss at Memphis on Saturday, Edwards received a technical foul from the bench as he celebrated a Rudy Gobert slam dunk. After receiving that tech, Edwards’ twice flashed the middle finger in the direction of the referees.

Edwards leads the NBA this season with nine technical fouls and has been fined $285,000 by the League.

Just as Minnesota works one rookie back, another goes down.

On the day first-year point guard Rob Dillingham was slated to being a rehab assignment with a G-League game in Iowa after sitting out the past three weeks with an ankle sprain, the Timberwolves announced rookie wing Terrence Shannon Jr. will miss two to four weeks with a foot sprain suffered in the Iowa Wolves’ contest on Saturday.

Shannon will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
