Eleven different players scored led by junior Brody Bumila with 21 points and 12 boards as Bishop Feehan routed Bishop Fenwick 80-48 in Catholic Central League boys basketball play.

In a Patriot League game, Dylan Perrault scored 22 points and Jason Paretchan added 20 points, including six threes, as Whitman-Hanson defeated Silver Lake, 76-54. … Jake Brilliant put in 19 points as Marshfield (6-0) cruised to a 77-46 victory over Duxbury.

In the Northeastern Conference, Connor Chiarello dropped 28 points while Teddy O’Neill chipped in 19 points as Swampscott (6-1) cruised to a 79-63 win over Marblehead. … Jariel Tolentino netted 22 points as Peabody (5-3) defeated Winthrop 61-36. … Masconomet got four triples and 19 points from Devin O’Brien as the Chieftains rolled over Saugus 96-57.

Girls basketball

In Patriot League action, Ella Fitzpatrick led all scorers with 11 points to lead Duxbury to a 53-20 victory over Marshfield. … Senior captain Taryn Leonard recorded a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as Whitman-Hanson rolled over Silver Lake 56-37.

In a South Shore League matchup, Lacey Brundage led the way with 23 points, including six three pointers, as Abington defeated Hull, 48-40.

In the Commonwealth Athletic Conference, Ava Mennella led with 12 points and Kendra O’Brien added 10 points as Greater Lowell (6-1) doubled up Northeast 56-28.

Divine Egbuta dropped 26 points as Lynn Classical topped Somerville 58-46 in Northeastern Conference play. … In the Catholic Conference, Elle Orlando collected 25 points, nine rebounds and eight steals while Ava Orlando finished with 21 points, six assists and seven steals as Notre Dame of Hingham toppled Ursuline 71-35.

Peyton Dibiaso scored 27 points to become Saugus’ all-time female scoring leader in a 51-40 loss to Masconomet in the Northeastern Conference. She broke the previous record of 1,110 points set by current coach Norma Waggett.

Lily O’Day scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds as Innovation (1-7) edged Roxbury Prep 36-35 in a nonleague contest.

Boys hockey

A high-tempo Middlesex League Liberty battle came down to the third period, which saw Reading (6-1) pull out a 3-1 win over Belmont off Nate Vitarisi and Jack Filipski’s goals from the point. The Rockets’ fourth line contributed to two goals as freshman Jack Barry tallied his career first, giving Reading just enough to get past another standout performance from Marauders sophomore goalie Ethan Bauer (36 saves). Leo Packard had the lone goal for Belmont to tie things up in the second period.

Justin Thibert had a hat trick as Shawsheen toppled Commonwealth Athletic Conference opponent Greater Lowell/Nashoba Tech 9-1.

Class notes

Boston Herald All-Scholastic Sasha Selivan of Newton North was named the 2024-25 Gatorade Massachusetts Volleyball Player of the Year. Selivan is the first Gatorade Massachusetts Volleyball Player of the Year to be chosen from Newton North.

The 5-foot-9 sophomore setter led the Tigers to a 24-1 record and a Division I state championship this past season. Selivan amassed 673 assists, 133 digs and 115 kills, including a 26-assist, four-ace effort in Newton North’s 3-0 win over Brookline in the state final. The nation’s No. 128 player in the Class of 2027 according to PrepVolleyball, she was named the Div. 1 state tournament MVP and a Div. 1 All-State selection by the Massachusetts High School Volleyball Coaches Association.

The 25th annual Navy All-American Bowl will take place Saturday at the Alamodome Dome in San Antonio, Texas with a 1 p.m. kickoff. The only New England player picked for the contest is offensive lineman Will Black from Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut. The 6-foot-7, 295-pounder, who has committed to Notre Dame, helped lead Choate to an undefeated season and a NEPSAC Bowl title.
