Brendan McDonald scored 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists as Somerset Berkley (5-1) defeated Dartmouth 80-65 in a nonleague contest. … Aaron Abebe scored 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Cambridge defeated Chelsea, 78-60. … Damien Jackman knocked down 23 points, and Danny Luna netted 20 points as Greater Lowell (4-4) upset previously undefeated South High, 62-56.

In the Northeastern Conference, Connor Chiarello erupted for 34 points, as Swampscott (5-0) remained perfect with an 89-64 victory over Saugus. … Jariel Tolentino collected 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, while Thad Broughton had 12 points and four rebounds as Peabody (4-3) defeated Marblehead, 56-43.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bailey Delaire put up 21 points as Mystic Valley defeated Collegiate Charter of Lowell 39-34 in a nonleague contest.

In a Commonwealth Athletic Conference matchup, Ava Mennella tallied 17 points as Greater Lowell topped Lowell Catholic with a 52-27 win.

Maeve Powers scored 15 points as North Quincy defeated Plymouth North 49-39 in the Patriot League. … Junior guard Leah Daley paced her team with 18 points, while senior captain Taryn Leonard registered her first double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) of the season as Whitman-Hanson (3-3) earned an impressive 63-52 win over Quincy. … Kate McBride registered 15 points as Hingham (1-3) bested Scituate, 49-25. … Cam Bradford (15 points) and Sawyer Bradford (11 points, 10 rebounds) carried things offensively, as Hanover edged Silver Lake, 44-39.

Aliana Ryan put in 15 points and secured eight rebounds to help guide Peabody (2-2) to a 46-32 Northeastern Conference win over Marblehead.
