Patriots sit Drake Maye for rookie QB Joe Milton III after one series vs. Bills
FOXBORO — The Patriots saw all they needed out of Drake Maye this season.
Maye played one series in Sunday’s season finale against the Bills before being sat for fellow rookie Joe Milton III. It’s Milton’s first career NFL snaps since being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.

Maye finishes his 2023 rookie campaign going 225-of-338 for 2,276 passing yards with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He rushed the ball for 421 yards with 2 touchdowns.
Maye was 0-for-1 and took a sack against the Bills.
The Patriots made Maye, Milton and Jacoby Brissett all active for the first time this season on Sunday.
Milton began his college career at Michigan before transferring to Tennessee.
