One selection, one major snub for Patriots in 2025 Pro Bowl Games
FOXBORO — Just one Patriots player made the 2025 Pro Bowl Games: special teamer Brenden Schooler.
Schooler found out when Mayo invited him into his office, when he made the announcement in front of special-teams coaches Jeremy Springer and Tom Quinn, executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf and special assistant to the head coach Matthew Slater.
Wolf called him the best at what he does.

The Patriots then announced it at Wednesday’s team meeting.
“It was awesome just to feel the love from all those guys,” Schooler said. “And just feel all the hard work, everything that we put in together. It’s my award, but it’s a testament to those guys. Because without the 10 other guys on the football field, I’m not able to do my job.”
Schooler, who signed a three-year contract extension early this season, also took on a role on defense for the first time this season.
Cornerback Christian Gonzalez was the Patriots’ biggest Pro Bowl snub.
Gonzalez made the first-team All-Pro team of ESPN NFL writer Bill Barnwell on Thursday. The Patriots cornerback matched up against the opposing team’s best receiver almost every week and allowed just 46 catches on 84 targets for 499 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions and seven pass breakups. He hasn’t allowed over 28 yards in a game since Week 9.
“I definitely think he deserves to be a Pro Bowler,” defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington said Thursday. “I mean, he’s one of the best, if not the best corner in the league.”
