Premiering on September 5, The Perfect Couple is a television version of the best-selling novel by Elin Hilderbrand of the same name. After watching all six episodes in one sitting, you may be asking: When will there be season two?

Even though Meghann Fahy’s (Merritt Monaco) murder was solved, many questions remained unresolved. On top of that, who could say no to another dramatic weekend on Nantucket? Will There Be The Perfect Couple Season 2?

Everyone knows that Liev Schreiber’s character, Tag Winbury, was married to the extremely rich Greer Garrison Winbury and that Kidman played her. Benji Winbury, played by Billy Howie, was going to wed Amelia Sacks, played by Eve Hewson, when a murder ruined the wedding. Towards the conclusion of the series, it was revealed that Merritt Monaco, Amelia’s best friend, was murdered by her sister-in-law Abby Winbury, played by Dakota Fanning.

Has everything happened? Well, since last week’s season premiere, Netflix has been mum on the matter. However, back in March, when the streaming service’s Tudum blog announced Benji and Amelia’s wedding, Netflix also made sure to specify that The Perfect Couple was a “limited series.”

Just because the program has been popular thus far doesn’t imply Netflix won’t reconsider and order a second season. Indeed, Big Little Lies was originally planned to be a limited series. However, as the program became popular, a second season was greenlit, with the plot hinged around a “novella-style bible of where these characters went” that creator Liane Moriarty had recently written. Kidman is one of four starring actresses who are now discussing the possibility of a third season. A second season might happen in the future, but Kidman is busy right now. This has never prevented her from adding more seasons in the past, and Kidman is the only one who can do it with her present cast. The Perfect Couple has not been renewed by Netflix, so we will have to wait a few years to see whether it is indeed the case.

What happened at the end of The Perfect Couple Season 1?

The sixth episode revealed Merritt’s murderer. Dakota Fanning plays the role of pregnant Abby Winbury, who poisoned Merritt and then had her killed in the water so that she could collect the trust wealth of her husband Thomas (Jack Reynor) immediately rather than waiting 18 years.

During Merritt’s romance with the patriarch of the Winbury family, Tag (Liev Schreiber), she discovered she was pregnant. Once the youngest Winbury child reached the age of eighteen, according to the terms of the Winbury trust fund, the inheritance would be distributed to the sons. Youngest son Will (Sam Nivola), of Tag and Greer, was approaching his eighteenth birthday. The trust money wouldn’t be available to Merritt for over twenty more years if she became pregnant. After her arrest, Abby was escorted to the prison.

Minutes before the credits rolled on The Perfect Couple, the scene cut to London, six months after Merritt passed away. Amelia (Eve Hewson), who had been Merritt’s fiancée and best friend, was located by Greer. A book was written by Amelia, and she requested Amelia’s approval before publishing it. Despite Greer’s icy attitude toward Amelia in Nantucket, the naturalist eventually won her over. A phone call would be greatly appreciated. “I would be thrilled to meet you,” Greer said to Amelia. The conversation between Greer and Amelia closed the series on an open note. According to Jenna Lamia, who has previously spoken to TV Insider, “I think their story is just beginning by the end of this series.”
