Red Sox lineups: Trevor Story to sit second game of Sunday’s doubleheader

After batting cleanup and playing shortstop in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins, Trevor Story is being given the evening off.

Story, infielder Vaughn Grissom and outfielder Tyler O’Neill are all out of the Red Sox lineup for Sunday’s second game. Story and Grissom both spent significant time on the injured list this season, and O’Neill sat the first game as well due to back tightness.

With those three out of the lineup and Rafael Devers out for the season due to shoulder soreness, the Red Sox will lean on their depth to finish out the series. Romy Gonzalez will play third base and bat second, Nick Sogard will start at shortstop, Enmanuel Valdez will play second base and Ceddanne Rafaela will start in center field.

Triston Casas, coming off a three home run explosion in the first game of the doubleheader, will bat fifth against Twins right-hander Zebby Matthews, who comes in with a 1-3 record and 6.30 ERA.

Kutter Crawford (8-15, 4.19) will start for Boston.
