Business People: Target Corp. taps veteran PepsiCo. exec as new CFO

Target Corp., Minneapolis, announced that Jim Lee has been named chief financial officer and a member of its leadership team effective Sept. 22. He succeeds Michael Fiddelke, who continues his duties as Target’s chief operating officer. Lee most recently was deputy chief financial officer at PepsiCo., where he spent 25 years in leadership roles.

ADVERTISING/PUBLIC RELATIONS

Minneapolis-based Park Street PR announced it is rebranding to its original name, McClung PR. The firm was established in 2010 by Brian McClung, who remains CEO. McClung formerly was an official in the administration of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. He is joined in leading the firm by Kate Raddatz, a former TV news reporter at CBS WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. … Little, a Minneapolis-based advertising design firm, announced it has hired Nat Jungerberg as managing account director, following the hiring of Janet Chambers as president in 2023; the firm also announced the promotions of Sarah Howley to associate creative director and Alex Van Keulen as design director.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

AgriBank, a St. Paul-based affiliate of the Farm Credit System, announced Brad William Hoffelt as chief financial officer. Hoffelt previously held financial leadership positions at U.S. Bank and GE. He succeeds Jeff Moore, who plans to retire in mid-2025 and will remain with AgriBank in an advisory capacity until then. … Piper Sandler Cos., a Minneapolis-based investment bank, announced the hiring of David Hunker as managing director and global head of activist defense and shareholder engagement. Hunker previously was head of shareholder activism defense at Ernst & Young Capital Advisors and also has experience with J.P. Morgan Securities in New York and London. … Edward Jones, an national retail investment advisory firm, announced the addition of Amber Knips, working with Minnesota clients in the Fairmont, Jackson and Worthington areas. … True North Advisors, a Minneapolis-based business broker, announced the following leadership changes for its Sunbelt Business Advisors and True North Mergers & Acquisitions affiliates: Brian Slipka is transitioning from CEO to chairman of True North Advisors; President Chris Jones promoted to CEO, and M&A Managing Director Michael Hubsmith promoted to president of True North Mergers & Acquisitions.

HONORS

Momease Solutions, a Plymouth-based developer of bras for facilitating breastfeeding, was announced as the $50,000 MN Cup grand prize winner. The MN Cup competition for emerging Minnesota businesses is presented each year by the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Momease Solutions was founded in 2021 by Ashley Mooneyham and Jennie Lynch.

LAW

Fredrikson, Minneapolis, announced the addition of attorney Nathan Rice as senior associate in its Litigation, White Collar & Regulatory Defense and Appellate groups. Before joining Fredrikson, Rice practiced complex litigation as an associate at a large global law firm and also served as a law clerk to Judge Roger L. Wollman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

Lifecore Biomedical, a Chaska-based contract manufacturer of pharmaceutical equipment, announced the appointment of Ryan Lake as chief financial officer, succeeding John Morberg. Lake previously was CFO of Societal CDMO, formerly Recro Pharma Inc.CVRx, a Maple Grove-based developer of a treatment for chronic heart failure, announced the appointments of Kevin Ballinger and Mitch Hill to its board of directors, and the departure of board member Ali Behbahani. Ballinger most recently served as the CEO of Aldevron; Hill is retiring as CFO of Inari Medical, effective Oct. 1.

Gopher State One Call, a Mendota Heights-based nonprofit utilities service provider, announced Kelly Connolly as chief operations officer. Gopher State One Call, also known as Call Before You Dig or 811, is the sole infrastructure excavation notification center for the State of Minnesota.
