BOYS SOCCER

Vincent McGann scored the lone goal for Chelmsford as they defeated Cambridge, 1-0, in a nonleague contest. … Jack Gavron found the back of the net off a pass from Riley Martins as Wayland (2-2) blanked Dearborn, 1-0.

In the Commonwealth Athletic Conference, Joe Mytych got the shutout in goal in his first varsity start and Jason Spaniol netted the game winning goal midway through the second half to give Shawsheen a 1-0 win over Lynn Tech.

GIRLS SOCCER

In a nonleague game, Kiersten Higgins scored a pair of goals to lead North Reading to a 4-0 victory over Bishop Fenwick. … Meredith Jones had her first career goal and Frankie Mazzini scored the other as Braintree blanked Central Catholic 2-0. … Tessa Hunt knocked home the game’s only and Piper Shepherd earned the shutout with five saves as Hamilton-Wenham (3-0-2) edged Peabody, 1-0. … Emily Hem scored twice as Greater Lowell defeated Lowell, 3-0.

VOLLEYBALL

In the Catholic Central League, Charlotte Skulte had 13 kills and teammate Caroline Dunn added 10 as Bishop Feehan defeated Bishop Fenwick, 3-1.

FOOTBALL

Andreas Bernal completed 10-of-14 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns as Salem defeated Brewer (Maine) 50-6 in the second annual Ken Perrone Witches Classic. Quinn Rocco Ryan rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, while adding four receptions for 78 yards and a third score.

Brendan Peno threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth, while Joey Berardi tallied three scores as Nauset improved to 2-0 with a 44-16 nonleague win over Lunenburg.

Zach Milner rushed for 167 yards and two scores as Littleton (1-0) defeated Ayer Shirley, 21-0.

Colby Catterton threw for 200 yards and two scores as Nashoba Tech (2-0) blanked Smith, 51-0. Zach Deschenes rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, while Zane Beausoleil added 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Mikey Galligan completed 7-of-15 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 105 rushing yards and a third score as North Quincy (2-0) defeated Oliver Ames, 41-28.

Jake Reilly rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, while Brayden Jones completed 12-of-18 passes for 157 yards and a score to lead Attleboro (1-1) past Stoughton 21-6 in the Hockomock League. Madden Murray caught nine passes for 123 yards and also picked off a pass for the Bombardiers.

Jayden Torres rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns as Triton (2-0) defeated Amesbury 30-22 in the Cape Ann League.

Brenden McDonald ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third as Somerset Berkley defeated Dennis-Yarmouth 27-20 in a nonleague contest. …Noah Mackenzie completed 14-of-26 passes for 226 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 58 yards and two more scores as Walpole (1-1) defeated Foxboro, 21-18. Matt St. Cyr hauled in seven passes for 115 yards to lead the Timberwolves’ receiving corps.

In Central Mass. action, Johnny Bordes completed 15-of-18 passes for 319 yards and a pair of scores to lead Groton-Dunstable to a 44-35 win over David Prouty.
