Luxembourg August 2024: Mercedes (+25.8%) takes the lead in weak market
Mercedes holds 12.6% of the Luxembourg market in August.
2,910 new cars found a buyer in Luxembourg in August, a harsh -14.8% year-on-year drop. The year-to-date tally is now off -5.4% to 32,270. Mercedes (+25.8%) defies the negative market to snap the pole position with a splendid 12.6% share vs. 8.1% YTD. This is the brand’s first win since September 2023. BMW (-14.2%) roughly matches the market and stays #2 while Volkswagen (-13.4%) falls to third place. It still ranks #1 year-to-date though. Audi (-3.8%) and Peugeot (-4.8%) resist below while Skoda (-21.4%) freefalls. Toyota (+58%), Volvo (+48.6%) and Kia (+25.8%) all score fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10.
