UK nations August 2024: Peugeot 3008 #2 in Northern Ireland and #5 in Wales

The Peugeot 3008 notches two Top 5 finishes this month.

Thanks to SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in August. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are already included in the August 2024 UK update. This month Scotland (+7.3%) is the most dynamic nation at +7.3% to 7,199 sales, followed by Wales at +5.5% to 3,014 and Northern Ireland at +4.6% to 3,466. England is the only nation in negative at -2.5% to 70,627 but given its weight it single-handedly pushes the UK market into negative territory. Year-to-date, all nations are in positive with Northern Ireland the best performer at +9.5% to 34,580 units ahead of Scotland at +6.4% to 107,164, Wales at +5.2% to 43,409 and England at +4.8% to 1,051,508.

Podium finishers are as follows: 

The Ford Puma is #1 in England and Wales and #2 in Scotland, the Kia Sportage #1 in Northern Ireland and Scotland, #2 in Wales and #3 in England, the Tesla Model 3 #2 in England, the Peugeot 3008 #2 in Northern Ireland and #5 in Wales, the Hyundai Tucson #3 in Northern Ireland, the VW Polo #3 in Scotland and the MG HS #3 in Wales.

Great performers also include the Renault Clio #4 in Scotland, the BMW 2 Series #7 in Scotland, the Seat Ateca #7 in Northern Ireland and the Citroen C3 Aircross #7 in Wales, all three managing their first Top 10 finish in their respective nations, the Audi A1 #8 in Scotland, the Kia Picanto #8 in Wales, the Dacia Sandero #9 in Wales, the Mercedes A-Class #10 in Scotland and the Audi A3 #10 in England.
