Israel August 2024: Skoda up to #3, Xpeng breaks all records

Xpeng holds 1.8% of the Israeli market in August.

Data by our local partner cartube.co.il shows an Israeli new car market down -7.7% year-on-year in August to 22,813. This way, the year-to-date volume is now off -8.7% to 203,022. Toyota (+5.1%) defies the negative market to cement its newfound leadership at 14% share. In contrast Hyundai (-27.1%), #1 a year ago, freefalls to 10.9% share. Skoda (+59.4%) advances five spots on July to land at #3, its second podium of the year after last March (#3 also). Mazda (+63.7%) follows, with Tesla (-18.8%) rounding out the Top 5 at 5.9% share vs 2.2% so far this year. Chery (+60.4%), Mitsubishi (+16.4%) and Seat (+81.2%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. New Chinese fare Xpeng climbs 12 ranks on last month to a record #14 (previous best #24 last March), with 410 sales (previous best 301 last January) and 1.8% share (previous best 1% last March).
