DIV. 5-6 OVERVIEW
The last time we saw Fairhaven on the football field, Justin Marques was running for more than 200 yards in guiding his team to a Div. 6 state championship. The bad news for the opposition is that the standout running back returns and he has plenty of linemen back looking to return to Foxboro.
Fairhaven certainly has to be considered among the favorites in Div. 6, but this is not an easy road to navigate as several teams have their best players back in the fold.
Norwell will look to star running back Will Bostrom along with quarterback Jack Luccarelli and lineman Dante Tordigliore. There will be a new look on the Abington sideline as Ed Reilly takes over for Jim Kelliher, who retired after more than a half-century on the sidelines.
Dennis-Yarmouth could have one of the top pass catching combos around with quarterback Jayden Barber and wide receiver Peyton Kellett back to torment enemy secondaries. Keep an eye on Stoneham, which returns several league all-stars. Winthrop, St. Mary’s and Swampscott are three more teams north of Boston with the potential to cause havoc.
Foxboro captured the Div. 5 state title last year and will be someone with the target on its back this fall. That being said, it doesn’t have to hurt standout tailback Ben Angelini and quarterback Mike Marcucella back in the fold.
Shawsheen has quarterback Sidney Tildsley back for another year and he should be among the best in the state. Apponequet is a team who will make noise in the South Coast Conference as running back Brody Joly and linemen Lucas Tremblay are back once again.

Jayden Barber, Sr., QB, 6-2, 175, Dennis-Yarmouth: Barber put up some big numbers as a junior, completing 186-of-301 passes for 2,823 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Liam Friis, Sr., PK, 6-6, 175, Triton: Nearly automatic, Friis made all 17 of his extra point attempts, while connecting on 5-of-6 field goals attempts, including a 39-yarder.
Brody Joly, Sr., RB/LB, 5-10, 195, Apponequet: One of the most productive running backs in Division 5, Joly amassed more than 2,000 all-purpose yards and 29 touchdowns.
Justin Marques, Sr., RB, 5-11, 215, Fairhaven: The classic workhorse back, Marques amassed 1,883 yards (including 228 in a Div. 6 state championship win) and 32 touchdowns.
Zach Moura, Jr., OL/DE, 6-0, 270, Fairhaven: Behind every successful running attack is a good offensive line and Moura excelled as a sophomore for the Div. 6 state champions.
A.J. Pinet, Sr., RB, 5-9, 195, Dedham: A threat since the first time he donned a Dedham uniform, Pinet has already rushed for more 4,000 yards in his career.
Sidney Tildsley, Sr., QB, 5-8, 150, Shawsheen: Two-time All-Scholastic has already thrown for more than 4,000 yards and 53 touchdowns.
