Saudi Arabia July 2024: Toyota Yaris Sedan leads, Hyundai Accent up 163.4% to #2

The new generation lifts Hyundai Accent sales up.

New car sales in Saudi Arabia gain 4.9% year-on-year in July to 61,842 units, with the year-to-date volume now up 6.1% to 429,020. Like in the UAE, Toyota (-3.7%) trails the market but manages a very solid 31.7% share vs. 28.6% so far this year. Hyundai (+28.7%) and Kia (+26.5%) surge ahead to complete the podium. Isuzu (-15.9%) and Nissan (-6.3%) struggle below but Suzuki (+82.5%), Geely (+39.4%) and Ford (+14%) impress. Changan (-37.3%) sinks at #9 while MG closes out the Top 10. 

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Yaris Sedan (-1.2%) stays in pole position despite a slight year-on-year loss. The Hyundai Accent surges 163.4% year-on-year to snap the 2nd place with 5.7% share vs. 4.8% year-to-date. The Toyota Hilux (-22.8%) stays #3 above the Toyota Camry (-2.3%). The Suzuki Swift Dzire (+51.6%) and Nissan Sunny (+98.1%) both soar at #5 and #6 respectively.
