Chappell Roan slams ‘f–king weird,’ ‘creepy’ fans for ‘abuse’

Pop star Chappell Roan is fed up with “f–king weird” and “creepy” fan service and isn’t mincing words about the “abuse and harassment” normalized in fan-celebrity encounters.

On Monday, the 26-year-old “HOT TO GO!” singer — real name Kayleigh Rose Amstutz — shared a two-part rant on TikTok slamming the intrusive expectations foisted on famous figures.

“Would you go up to a random lady and say, ‘Can I get a photo with you?’ And she’s like, ‘No? What the f–k?’ And then you get mad at this random lady?” asked the All Things Go festival headliner.

“This is a lady you don’t know, and she doesn’t know you at all. … Would you assume everything you read about her online is true? I’m a random b—h. You’re a random b—h,” said Roan.

Roan continued in a subsequent clip — which she prefaced by advising people “not assume this is directed at someone or a specific encounter.”

The “Casual singer” also pushed back against criticism that such fan interactions come with the territory of being a pop star.

“I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous,” she said. “I don’t want whatever the f–k you think you’re supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity.”

Noting that the parasocial relationships people forge with celebrities are “f–king weird,” Roan said, she’s “allowed to say no to creepy behavior, OK?”

This isn’t the first time the “Pink Pony Club” singer has gotten candid about being in the limelight.

Back in June, while feeling “a little off” during a performance in Raleigh, North Carolina, Roan admitted it was “really hard to keep up” as her career’s just kind of going really fast.”

A little over a year earlier, in May 2023, Roan got similarly candid on Instagram, noting that while she’s “very fortunate and grateful to have my dream job,” she was “quite uncomfortable” with success.
