Iran H1 2024: Zamyad Z24, Iran Khodro Tara, Samand strong

Iran Khodro Tara

It’s time to study production data for Iran over the First Half of 2023. Note production figures are very close to sales data as exports are minimal. The models with available data add up to 495,207 units over the period, a harsh -10.5% year-on-year fall. Peugeot-branded vehicles, produced by Iran Khodro, sink -33.8% to under 110,000 units. The Saipa Tiba (-19.5%) is catching up and remains the most produced nameplate in the country. The Iran Khodro Dena (-2.6%) is now threatened by its older brother the Iran Khodro Samand (+36%) in outstanding shape, whereas the Saipa Quick (-38.9%) tumbles down to #5. The antediluvian Zamyad Z24 pickup, a 1970 Nissan Junior, sees its production soar 48.5% to rank #6 overall. The Saipa 151 Van (+30.5%) also delivers a very strong result. The Iran Khodro Tara (+48.4%) overtakes the Saipa Shahin (+19.1%) but the two models are still ramping up their production three years after launch.
