IndiaFest offers food, culture and entertainment Saturday in St. Paul

You’re invited to celebrate India’s Independence Day through musical and dance performances, diverse Indian cuisine and many more showcases Saturday at IndiaFest on the Minnesota State Capitol Grounds in St. Paul.

The annual festival runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment for all ages, including a special section set aside for youth activities and games.

Highlights of the event include a parade, a flag hoisting ceremony and student achievement awards received in the presence of elected state and federal officials, according to India Association of Minnesota.

The event will conclude with Bollywood Night, 7-9 p.m., when the ground converts to an open dance floor and the stage is lit up.

The event is free, and Metro Transit will be providing free transit passes from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. the day of the event. Passes can be accessed at www.surveymonkey.com/r/2024IndiaFestAug10.
