Red Sox announce spring training schedule for 2025
The Red Sox will open their 2025 spring training schedule on Friday, Feb. 21, when they’ll face off against Northeastern University for their annual exhibition matchup.
The club’s Grapefruit League opener will be the following day on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox will play a total of 30 Grapefruit League games, including 15 at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, between Feb. 22 and March 23.
In addition, the Red Sox will also participate in MLB’s second annual Spring Breakout initiative by fielding a team of top prospects against the Tampa Bay Rays’ top prospects. That game will take place on Thursday, March 13, in Port Charlotte, Florida, and while rosters won’t be announced until the spring, likely candidates to participate include Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony, Kyle Teel and Kristian Campbell.
Because the Spring Breakout game will be held on the road, the Red Sox will also host a minor league exhibition game at JetBlue Park on March 14 so fans will have an opportunity to interact with Boston’s rising stars and see them play up close.
Here is Boston’s spring training schedule in its entirety. All game times will be finalized at a later date.
