2 men dead in related shootings in Blaine, Anoka County sheriff reports

Authorities are investigating a pair of related fatal shootings that occurred Tuesday morning in Blaine.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, officers were summoned shortly before 9 p.m. on a report of a shooting in the 200 block of Territorial Road Northeast in Blaine.

The officers arriving at the scene found a man with a critical gunshot wound outside a residence. He was soon declared dead at the scene.

A short time later, officers located a suspect vehicle in the 11900 block of Seventh Street Northeast in Blaine.

A man found in the vehicle had been shot. The man, who is believed to have been involved in the initial shooting, was declared dead at the scene of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s office said there is no know threat to the public and that no other suspects are being sought. The shooting remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office, Blaine Police Department and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.

The men weren’t immediately identified pending autopsy and notification of next of kin.
