Luxembourg July 2024: MG breaks all records

MG sales are up 351.1% year-on-year in July.

4,275 new cars hit Luxembourg rods in July, a meagre 1.6% year-on-year lift. The year-to-date volume is still in negative however at -4.4% to 29,360. This month Volkswagen (-18.1%) reclaims the brands top spot with 11.3% share and despite a hefty year-on-year loss. BMW (+10.2%) drops to #2 and 10.6% of the market, Mercedes (+27.9%) lodges a stellar result at 9% share vs. 7.7% over the first 7 months of the year, overtaking Audi (-8.6%). Below a disappointing Skoda (-7.4%), MG (+351.1%) posts a surreal uptick and gains 20 spots on June to break all records at #6 with 203 sales and 4.7% share. Its previous bests were #8, 133 sales and 4% share all hit in December 2023. Volvo (+71.8%) and Kia (+37.7%) also stun in the remainder of the Top 10.
