Croatia July 2024: MG smashes all records, VW T-Cross #1 for the first time

The MG ZS is up to #4 overall in Croatia.

The Croatian new car market is up 6.9% year-on-year in July to 5,569 registrations, meaning the YTD volume is now up 13.7% to 44,363. Volkswagen (+15.1%) overtakes Skoda (-31.3%) to snap the brands pole position with 14.3% share vs. 11.5% year-to-date. Opel (+79.4%) and Hyundai (+79.3%) soar to #3 and #4 respectively with Toyota (+28.4%) also in great shape year-on-year. MG (+308.7%) delivers the best performance near the top by far, breaks into the Top 10 for the first time and smashes all its records at #9 with 282 sales and 5.1% share. Its previous bests were #13 with 156 sales and 2.5% share in March 2023.

Over in the models ranking, the VW T-Cross (+141.5%) takes the lead in Croatia for the first time in the nameplate’s history after ranking #2 in November 2019, March 2020 and May 2024. The Opel Corsa (+3512.5%!) catches up on a catastrophic year-ago result and repeat at #2, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. The VW Tiguan (+171.2%) rounds out the podium in equally spectacular fashion. The performer of the month is arguably the MG ZS (+275.5%) reaching a record #4 with 184 sales and 3.3% share, beating its previous best of #10 with 137 sales and 2.2% share hit in March 2023. Still leader year-to-date, the Skoda Octavia (-51.3%) implodes to #6 this month.
