Karen Read trial: How much did Canton town employees who testified make last year?

The Herald looked into the 2023 calendar year pay of Canton town employees who testified at the Karen Read murder trial.

The first emergency responder to the scene at 34 Fairview a little after 6 on the morning of Jan. 29, 2022. Dashcam footage from Saraf’s cruiser played in court showed Karen Read frantically pacing after he arrived at the lawn during the snowstorm.

“She kept saying, ‘This is all my fault. This is my fault. I did this.’ She was very hysterical,” Saraf said

On the second 911 call, testified Read kept referring to O’Keefe as “her husband” while in hysterics. He said that he thought Read’s statements and actions were “within the normal grieving process.”

Senior officer on the scene after O’Keefe had already been transported to the hospital, oversaw scene operations including securing the site, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Used a leaf blower to gently remove snow from the area other officers told him O’Keefe’s body had been, collected six samples of presumed blood from the area in red Solo cups and located a shattered piece of a drinking glass. He testified he saw “none” of the broken tail light pieces.

Testified he arrived on the scene at around 6:30 a.m. when O’Keefe was already in the ambulance. He called in MSP, since they have jurisdiction over “unattended deaths” and homicides. Interviewed the 34 Fairview Road owners Brian and Nicole Albert as well as Jennifer McCabe — Brian Albert’s sister-in-law and who, along with Kerry Roberts, accompanied Read to look for O’Keefe that morning — inside the home. The interviews were not recorded.
