Closing Prices for Crude Oil, Gold, and Other Commodities (July 31)

By The Associated Press Benchmark U.S. crude oil for September delivery rose $3.18 to $77.91 per barrel Wednesday. Brent crude for September delivery rose $2.09 to $80.72 per barrel. Wholesale gasoline for August delivery rise 9 cents to $2.48 a gallon. August heating oil rose 8 cents to $2.42 a gallon. September natural gas fell 9 cents to $2.04 per 1,000 cubic feet.
