Man shot near Jackson Square T stop in Jamaica Plain
A man was shot and left in critical condition near the Jackson Square T stop in Jamaica Plain on Monday afternoon, Boston Police reported.
“At about 2:37 p.m. this afternoon, officers from E-13 responded to a shot spotter activation for multiple rounds, as well as a corresponding 911 call for a personal shot at 245 Centre Street,” BPD Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin stated Monday afternoon. “On arrival, we observed an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.”
The victim was taken by Boston EMS to a local hospital, McLaughlin said. His injuries are considered life-threatening.
Police received and broadcasted a description of a suspect on a scooter, McLaughlin stated. An individual matching the description was stopped nearby shortly after and placed under arrest, according to the deputy superintendent.
Boston police are “very early in the investigation” and still working to “piece things together,” McLaughlin said as of Monday afternoon.
