Trump-a-maniac: Hulk Hogan to speak at RNC ahead of 45’s acceptance speech

The Republican National Convention will close with a nomination-acceptance speech by former President Donald Trump, but not until after the crowd has been hyped up by pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.

Hogan and Trump go way back, to at least WrestleMania IV and V, which were both held at Trump Plaza in the late 80s.

Back then it was Trump the ‘Hulkamaniac‘ watching from the front rows while the wrestlers took center stage.

On Thursday, according to NBC, all eyes will be on the only WWE Hall of Fame inductee-president as he accepts the Republican nomination for a third time running, while Hogan hangs out ringside.

“Two senior campaign officials confirmed to NBC News that Hulk Hogan will speak tonight at the RNC convention ahead of former President Trump formally accepting the GOP nomination for President of the United States,” the network said via the social media app formerly known as Twitter.

Former Trump Administration Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon, also an ex-professional wrestler and a WWE executive, addressed the convention crowd in Milwaukee on Wednesday.

A prime-time appearance by Hogan at the important political conference could be seen as part of his long-running come-back story arc.

The 70-year-old, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea, was once removed from the WWE Hall of Fame and scrubbed from their website over blatantly racist comments he allegedly made in 2007 that were included in a sex tape which leaked in 2015. Three years later Hogan’s place in the Hall of Fame was restored.

Also speaking on the convention’s last day is UFC CEO Dana White.
