The iconic Greasy Pole contest in Gloucester kicks off
The annual Greasy Pole contest in Gloucester kicked off on Friday, as contestants tried once again to make their way across the slippery pole to capture the flag.
The iconic contest is part of the St. Peter’s Fiesta, a celebration of the city’s commercial fishing and the Italian American community.
The Greasy Pole contest will continue on Saturday and Sunday.
