Federal Judge to Hear Arguments on Lawfulness of Jack Smith Appointment
By Catherine Yang U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing one of the four criminal cases against former President Donald Trump, has scheduled a hearing on June 21 to address the lawfulness of special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment. The parties will argue on President Trump’s motion to dismiss the indictment based on the unlawful appointment of the special counsel.
