Los Angeles Police Investigate The Cause Of Matthew Perry’s Death
It has been around seven months since Friend’s Chandler, Matthew Perry, died. The 54-year-old actor was the heartthrob of not one, but two entire generations. He took his last breath on October 28, 2023.
Authorities have now opened an investigation into the cause of his demise. The Los Angeles police have now been finding connections to the supply of ketamine that caused his death.
At that time, the medical reports suggested that the TV actor died from “acute effects of ketamine.” Apart from that, drowning was also listed as one of the factors behind his death.
In a statement given to the media on Tuesday, the LAPD said that they are collaborating with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the US Postal Inspection Service regarding Perry’s death.
Notably, Perry battled with addiction for a major part of his life. He was found motionless in his hot tub.
Some sources have told TMZ that the investigating agencies have contacted many people in the Hollywood industry. They included Matthew’s close friends and people who have struggled with addiction themselves. However, no one has been arrested so far.

Although his death was termed accidental, there was enough room for skepticism. Perry took ketamine infusion therapy for depression a week before he died. However, medical experts said that the ketamine was not from that therapy since the medication has a half-life of three to four hours.
Matthew Perry is famous across the world for his humorous and sarcastic role as Chandler Bing in the TV sitcom Friends. Soon after his death, the show’s producer, Warner Bros. Television Group, issued a statement:
When he was at the peak of his career, Matthew struggled with addiction to alcohol and painkillers. Not only this, he had to be taken to rehabilitation centers on numerous occasions.
A few years ago, in 2016, he told the BBC Radio that he has no memory of three years of his role in Friends as he was always high on drugs or drunk.
