Wednesday’s high school roundup/scores: Peter Brooks swings hot bat, fuels Braintree past Weymouth

In the Bay State Conference, Peter Brooks went 3-for-4 and had four RBI while Sam Garrity and Sean ORourke had two hits as Braintree defeated Weymouth, 11-1, in five innings in baseball action.

Charlie Engelman pitched for four innings and also added a run and two RBI while Felix Ham had one hit, one run, and one RBI as Brookline defeated Wellesley, 5-4.

In a Patriot league matchup, David McNaught threw six innings, giving up only three hits and striking out seven, as Whitman-Hanson bested Marshfield, 2-0. … Thomas Perkins and Connor Hutchison each posted two hits and two RBI for Hanover in a 7-1 win over Pembroke. … Alex Carroll batted 3-for-3 with a double and Cam Tetler allowed one earned run over 6.1 innings to lead Plymouth South (7-10) over Scituate, 6-3.

Matt Burt tossed five complete innings, allowed two hits and struck out seven, while also going 4-for-4 at the plate and driving in four runs as Bishop Stang silenced Bishop Fenwick, 10-0, in the Catholic Central league.

Matt DeCarney pitched all seven innings, fanning 11 as Winthrop topped Saugus, 8-0, in Northeastern Conference action. … Zeke Noelsaint drove in two runs and stole three bases for Malden (11-4) in an 8-6 Greater Boston League win over Lynn English.

Tyler Ladouceur’s three-run blast was his second home run in as many days as Bellingham (10-5) topped Dedham, 11-5, in Tri-Valley League action.

Softball

In a nonleague matchup, Camryn Collier and Ashlyn Brady combined for a four-hitter while Claire Jokkin had two hits and two RBI as Latin Academy defeated Masconomet, 4-1. … Natalia Fotopoulos threw a one-hitter while having two hits, three runs, and two RBI as Arlington silenced Arlington Catholic, 12-0. … Josselyn Anctil (two doubles, two RBI, three runs), Olivia LaCava (four RBI, two runs, double) and Madison Nereu (triple, run, RBI) all had three hits for Wareham (13-3) in a 16-1 win over St. John Paul II.

Becca Harris collected four hits in five at bats and also drove a solo home run as Tewksbury bested Central Catholic, 9-7, in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

Talia Beer allowed four hits, one walk, and had two strikeouts as Hanover shut down Pembroke, 2-0, in a Patriot league contest. … In a Midland Wachusett matchup, Kiley Hogan went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a solo homerun, and two RBI doubles as Tyngsboro defeated Quabbin, 8-3.

Julia Rumsey had three RBI while Mia Jacob and Pasley Parisee each drove in two, leading Durfee over Brockton, 17-2, in Southeast Conference play. … Shannon MacLeod fanned 13 batters from the circle while batting 5-for-5 with two RBI, pairing with Claire Ferrara (4-for-5, two doubles, home run, three RBI) to power Notre Dame Academy of Hingham over Ursuline, 11-9, for the Catholic Central League title.

Rachel Dana (3-for-3, home run) and Lauren Wilson (2-for-3, triple, double) each scored four runs and drove in four more for Lynn Classical (7-7) in a 24-3 Greater Boston League win over Chelsea.

Abby Wojtaszek and Shea McDonald both batted 3-for-4 at the plate as Burlington (9-8) beat Melrose, 12-2, in Middlesex League action.

Boys lacrosse

In the Mayflower Conference, Brendan Cooper (five goals), Peyton Volz (four goals), and Colton Penticost (two goals) all found the net while Tyler Davidson made 14 saves as Southeastern topped Tri-County, 13-5.

Jake Cusson scored four goals and three assists while Will Levrault added another five points (three goals, two assists) including his 100th career goal, as Apponequet beat Somerset Berkeley in the South Coast league.

Girls lacrosse

Quinn Anderson scored three goals and had two assists while Maddie Ramsey added another three goals to lead Sandwich to an 18-3 nonleague win over Bishop Stang.

Junior Karina Bosco erupted for 11 points (eight goals) to lead Dighton-Rehoboth (8-5) over South Coast Conference foe Seekonk, 20-12.

Boys volleyball

Finn Bell filled up the stat sheet with 31 kills and 17 digs, finishing off most of Joey Burke’s 54 assists as Wayland edged Milford, 3-2, in nonleague play. … Cole Morrison dished a whopping 63 assists, leading St. John’s Prep to a 3-1 win over Winchester. … Francis McGonagle erupted for 25 kills and four blocks, pacing St. John’s of Shrewsbury (7-9) in a 3-2 win over Lincoln-Sudbury.

In Greater Boston League play, Ruben Rodriguez slammed down 21 kills and Larry Claudio dished 38 assists as Revere topped Somerville, 3-1.

Deryl Atem and Owen Fulls combined for 30 kills, leading Central Catholic (9-8) over Billerica, 3-1, in Merrimack Valley Conference action.
