Will there be a Lupin Season 4?

As of now, there is no confirmation regarding a fourth part of the beloved series. It will be worth the wait as Assane Diop has undoubtedly become everyone’s favorite. While it is difficult to remain certain about its return, the show’s creator, George Kay, might have something in store for us. In an interview with Variety after the airing of Lupin’s third part, he was asked about a potential Part 4. He said,

Obviously, we’ve worked super hard on these seasons and then we got to see how the world reacts. So I would say, not to answer for Damien [Couvreur, Netflix’s VP of content series in France], but he’s got to factor that in.

But when you create the dynamics amongst the characters, you set these shows up so that they can have a long life so that you’re not cornered or you don’t have a problem continuing them, because it’s harder to generate length out of a show that’s not designed to run and run.

So we had very ambitious foundations for it. So it’s definitely got the scale, if it’s required,

Now, this has made the fans hold their hopes high for a fourth part of the series. The Lupin Part 4 release date is unclear, but if it happens, you can expect the show to be released in late 2024.

What could be the plot of Lupin Part 4?

The third part concluded with a lot of cliffhanger questions in the minds of the audience. Those questions are definitely going to be answered once we get a fourth part of the series. Nonetheless, series writer George Kay, in an interview with Radio Times, shared that there is a possibility of bringing a Sherlock Holmes crossover in the series. Kay added,

Speaking really honestly, there have been [discussions]. There’s some ideas circling around that, that I have, that I’m really interested to explore.

The Arsène Lupin fanbase, which is evident within the show, would have to lock antlers with the Sherlock Holmes fanbase — you want to take it to a really meta level. Having that kind of level of fun would be really cool, and it’s not something we haven’t discussed.
