EPA moves

Terry Jarrett’s May 10 article, “EPA is mandating electricity shortfalls,”  should shock us all.  Demand for more electricity is increasing at a high rate because of electric vehicles and huge data storage facilities.  The North American Electricity Reliability Corp. (reported that soaring demand and the rapid reduction in coal fed power plants is a recipe for a full-blown grid reliability crises.  The Biden administration is planning to tear down the coal fleet nearly overnight without any exit strategy to replace it.  There wasn’t an exit strategy for Biden’s quick withdrawal  from Afghanistan and we left billions of dollars in weapons and ammunition for the Taliban. That was a total disaster.  Biden plans to pull the plug on the fossil fuel industry without an exit strategy.  Americans can expect another disaster unless EPA regulations are restrained.

Steward bankruptcy

Why is the state so upset about Steward filing for bankruptcy (“AG blasts steward in court,” May 8 )? If the state is so invested in how Steward runs their business, where was the state when Steward was “running the hospital into the ground”?

I will tell you where, doing nothing as they usually do until after the fact. My father used to say Democrats put up the stop sign after someone gets killed and he sure was right when it comes to this administration.

Stop pretending you really care and try to do your job the next time so this will not happen again.

Protests

Our cherished tradition of free expression has been utilized by enemies of our country to demonize America’s Jewish population and decry the very government that allows this freedom to flourish. The malcontents, fools and useful idiots parroting Marxist and radical Islamist propaganda are financed by legitimate sources which, presumably, our internal security services are aware of but have not as yet sounded a loud enough alarm for bystanders to hear.

We must remember what Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson wrote in 1949 in Terminiello v. Chicago: “The choice is not between order and liberty. It is between liberty with order and anarchy without either. There is danger that, if the court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will convert the constitutional Bill of Rights into a suicide pact.”
