Red Sox lineup: Ceddanne Rafaela returns to shortstop, Vaughn Grissom to DH
The Red Sox have been trying everything to shake out of their early-May slump, and Saturday the club will mix things up again.
After returning to center field on Friday night, Ceddanne Rafaela will move back to shortstop on Saturday and infielder Vaughn Grissom will get a day off his feet as the designated hitter as he continues to reintegrate himself into the lineup. Rookie David Hamilton will start at second base in his place, and Boston will opt for their usual outfield alignment of Tyler O’Neill in left, Jarren Duran in center and Wilyer Abreu in right.
Rafael Devers will remain in the cleanup spot for the third straight game, Grissom will bat fifth, Dom Smith will get the start at first base and bat sixth and Reese McGuire will round out the lineup at catcher.
Cooper Criswell (2-1, 1.74 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound against Washington’s Jake Irvin (2-3, 3.72).
