BASEBALL
Asa Strauss went the distance, striking out nine, as Milton Academy defeated Thayer Academy, 7-1.
Joe Tully (three hits, two runs) Matthew Pearson (two hits, three RBI), Darren Spencer (two hits, one RBI) and Owen Erickson (two RBI single) led Southeastern to an 8-2 win over Blue Hills in the Mayflower Conference.
In the South Coast Conference, Jack Anderson earned the win as he surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking none, as Greater New Bedford Voke defeated Old Rochester, 7-0.
Jake Jackson had the game winning hit in the sixth inning with a two RBI single as North Andover bested Andover, 3-2, in the Merrimack Valley Conference. … Nolan Dawson drove in the game-winning run with a single, helping himself out at the mound (complete game, eight strikeouts) as Billerica (10-2) took the MVC 2 title with a 2-1 win over Haverhill. … Kyle Cummings and Noah Russo each collected two hits and a double while Cummings got the final two outs to get the save as Tewksbury (8-6) edged Methuen 8-7 for its fourth straight win.
Hunter Fucci went the distance for the shutout, leading Waltham over Wayland, 6-0, in Dual County League play.
In NEPSAC/EIL baseball action, Nick Hubbard and Hudson Weidman each drove in three runs to lead Pingree (11-2) to a 13-5 win over The Kent School.
In nonleague play, Max King, Jack Titley and Conor Grieve combined on the win, while Hayden Regan, Cal Youhas and Dan O’Rourke each had two hits to lead Braintree (13-3) to a 5-2 win over Duxbury.
BOYS LACROSSE
In a nonleague contest, Zach Buccigross (goal, three assists) recorded his 100th career assist, as Abington doubled up Oliver Ames, 12-6. … Behind five goals from Kenny Wisniewski and six points from Jake Cusson (four assists), Apponequet rolled to a 16-3 win over New Bedford.
GIRLS LACROSSE
In a nonleague matchup, Sofia Grasso (five goals, one assist) tallied her 100th career goal in which she became the second player in the girls lacrosse program’s history to reach this milestone as South Shore Tech bested Abington, 15-7. … Aubrie Schwager recorded four goals while eight other teammates also found the net as Sandwich topped Bishop Stang, 18-3. … Bailey Kelly’s four goals and two assists complemented five goals from Shannon Balfe as Whitman-Hanson routed Oliver Ames, 16-6.
Abby Bradley and Cece Levrault each tallied five goals as Apponequet (12-1) defeated Greater New Bedford 15-3 in the South Coast Conference. … Taylor Simard erupted for five goals while Janice Bouchard tallied a hat trick with three assists, propelling Bourne (3-10) to a 14-8 win over Seekonk.
Evie Bernard tallied six goals and an assist as Hamilton-Wenham defeated Georgetown 16-7 in the Cape Ann League.
SOFTBALL
In the Mayflower Conference, Mia Bradshaw went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI, and one run scored while Allie Blanchard went 2-for-3 with two runs scored as South Shore Tech defeated Blue Hills, 6-2.
Christina Magnett went two-for-three with a two run home run, a double, and two RBI as Apponequet tallied a 6-1 South Coast Conference win over Somerset Berkeley. … Alexia Tsonis went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored as Greater New Bedford (7-8) defeated Old Rochester, 10-4. … Lila Alvarez fanned 11 in a complete game and Ella Preston knocked in two runs to mark the difference for Case in a 6-4 win over Seekonk.
Anna Gardner (2-for-3, three RBI) belted her second homer of the year, leading Manchester-Essex to a 15-2 nonleague win over Cristo Rey.
In the Southeast Conference, Megan Arruda struck out 13 and gave up zero runs as Dartmouth silenced Durfee, 15-0.
Avery Della Piana opened up with a three-run double and Tewksbury never looked back, erupting to a 12-0 Merrimack Valley Conference win over Methuen. … Brigid Gaffny struck out 11 as North Andover defeated Andover, 4-1.
Kate Schulte, Sienna Powers and Jane Melia each had three RBI as Hingham handled North Quincy/Quincy 15-3 in the Patriot League.
Kasie Bailey (2-for-3) drove in Calli Pineau on a single in the bottom of the eighth to give Abington (15-1) a 1-0 nonleague win over Notre Dame (Hingham). Elsie Testa scattered three hits and struck out seven for the Green Wave.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Parth Pawar continued to shine for Acton-Boxboro with 53 assists, often connecting with Obi Umeh (30 kills) as part of a 3-1 Dual County League win over Westford Academy. … Finn Bell (29 kills) and Joe Kelly (14 kills) paired their combined 23 digs with Liam Frenzel’s 25 to help Wayland (9-5) edge Boston Latin 3-2.
Otavio Perks slammed down 28 kills alongside Tochukwu Njoku’s 13 kills, finishing off Max Dong’s 48 assists as O’Bryant bested Madison Park, 3-1, in Boston City League action.
A massive night at the net from Cooper Dellea (eight blocks) and Gabe Batista (18 kills) set the tone for Haverhill in a 3-1 Merrimack Valley Conference win over Dracut.
