Taiwan April 2024: MG HS repeats at #3, Luxgen n7 up to #6

The Luxgen n7 is the best-selling BEV in Taiwan in April.

37,038 new light vehicles hit Taiwanese roads in April, a -3.1% year-on-year drop. The year-to-date tally tilts into negative as a result at -0.3% to 149,439. Toyota (-4.7%) holds a mammoth 26% share, in line with its YTD level. Lexus (-20.7%) rallies back up to #2 despite a harsh year-on-year fall while Mercedes (+9%) is up four ranks on last month to #3. MG (+190.2%) continues to defy gravity at #4 and 5.8% share, distancing Hyundai (-0.9%), Nissan (+0.1%) and Honda (+0.2%) all stable. BMW (+36.6%) excels at #8 vs. #12 last month, CMC (+9.4%) and Mitsubishi (+17.3%) are very solid but Ford (-27.2%) is in freefall.

The Toyota Corolla Cross (-12.8%) retains the top spot in the models ranking with 6.1% share ahead of the Toyota Town Ace (+25.9%). The MG HS (+121.7%) repeats at a record third place above the Toyota RAV4 (+41.4%). The new Toyota Yaris Cross stays at #5 while the performer of the month is the new Luxgen n7 up 23 ranks on March to #6 with over 1,000 sales, meaning it is the best-selling BEV in Taiwan this month.
