Red Sox lineup: Josh Winckowski set to start against Washington Nationals

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Josh Winckowski will get his first opportunity to make a case for the Red Sox starting rotation on Wednesday, when he takes the mound against the Washington Nationals.

Boston’s lineup is once again light on big league regulars, with most of the same group of prospects and depth players set to take the field. One notable change from Tuesday is that Pablo Reyes will get the start at first base and Bobby Dalbec at third. Manager Alex Cora has indicated Reyes is the only other player on the 40-man roster besides Dalbec he’s comfortable backing up Triston Casas at first base, and Wednesday could be an opportunity for Reyes to prove he’s a viable option at the position.

Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu are once again starting at center and right field respectively. The two rookies have gotten significant playing time so far this spring and are expected to get every opportunity to earn starting jobs on the big league club.

Following Winckowski, Joe Jacques, Zack Kelly, Greg Weissert, Jorge Benitez, Cam Booser and Luis Guerrero are all expected to pitch for the Red Sox as well.
