Wild alternate captain Marcus Foligno will miss at least the next two games after leaving Friday night’s 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh with a lower body injury.

The veteran forward missed a 45-minute practice Sunday at TRIA Rink and did not travel with the team for a two-game road trip through Las Vegas (Monday) and Arizona (Wednesday).

“Right now we’re just planning on him missing a couple games,” Hynes said.

Foligno, 32, was playing a strong game — and particularly fierce on the penalty kill — before he was injured when tripped by the Penguins’ Marcus Pettersson with 1:31 remaining in the second period. He returned in the third period but only played an 11-second shift.

Center Connor Dewar, who hasn’t played since leaving a 6-3 victory at Florida on Jan. 17, went through a second full practice and could be available to play in Monday’s 9 p.m. puck drop against the Golden Knights.

“I would think if he responds favorably to today’s practice, he should be ready to go,” Hynes said.

Still, the Wild recalled Adam Beckman on Sunday. The forward was recalled last week on an emergency basis when Pat Maroon was placed on injured reserve with a back injury that will require surgery but didn’t play.

Beckman, 22, has 10 goals and 20 points in 39 games with AHL Iowa this season.

Chisholm waits

Declan Chisholm went through his second full practice with the Wild since being claimed off waivers last week from Winnipeg. Minnesota plans to play him, but not against Vegas.

The Wild got Jonas Brodin back from an illness for the Pittsburgh game, and Hynes said he has been happy with the play of Jon Merrill, alongside Dakota Mermis, the past two games.
“The D corps in general, all six of them had good games against Pittsburgh,” Hynes said.

Veteran Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 33 of 35 shots against the Penguins but Hynes said the team is still weighing whether to start him or Filip Gustavsson on Monday.
