Tax-aide service

AARP volunteers will provide free tax assistance and preparation for taxpayers Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 3 p.m. at KOOTASCA Community Action, 2232 Second Ave. E. Call 283-5236 for more information.

Basic programming

Basic Programming is set for 4 p.m. Thursday at International Falls Public Library. Learn how to create mini games and cards using a simple programming language. Taught by a University of Minnesota Morris professor, this class will provide the basics to continue learning. The program will be repeated at 10 a.m. Saturday with some additional information on how to proceed and where to go to continue programming and creating games.

Kabetogama fire department

The Lake Kabetogama Area Volunteer Fire Department will gather for the annual meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Kabetogama Fire Hall.

Sportsman association

The annual winter meeting of Koochiching Sportsman Association is set for Feb. 12 upstairs at the Elks Club. Directors will meet at 6 p.m., with the general members at 7. Dinner will follow at the Elks.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary

The regular meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2948 is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Post Home dining room, 1416 Third Ave.-Highway 53. A light lunch will follow the meeting.
