A 39-year-old woman from Marstons Mills was taken into custody after allegedly threatening a pair of golfers who were playing a round at the Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Wednesday, the Barnstable Police Department said.

Police said they responded to a report of a “woman waving a pistol” at two men who were on the course.

“The victims told responding officers that as they were playing their round of golf a woman appeared from the wood line yelling at them to stay out of her yard. When the golfers responded that they were not in her yard she presented what appeared to be a black pistol, waving and pointing it at them,” police said in a statement.

Police said they identified Chrystal Lawson of Marston Mills as the suspect and were able to surround her residence and have her exit the home “without incident.”

“Lawson was taken into custody at that point, and a search of her residence revealed two rubber guns and a replica pistol magazine,” police said.

Lawson was booked at the Barnstable Police Department on two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit firearm. She was released on personal recognizance and is scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court Friday, according to police.

Arrest made in Marshfield home death

A 65-year-old man is scheduled to be arraigned on charges connected to the death of an 80-year-old man in his home at 853 Main St. in Marshfield.

The brief notice from the Plymouth DA’s office states that Marshfield Police arrested Richard Lombardi on charges related to the death of the unidentified man. Lombardi is held on $1 million bail ahead of his arraignment on the undisclosed charges at Plymouth District Court at some point on Friday.

Boston police recover multiple stolen mopeds

Boston police arrested a 22-year-old from Dorchester and a 32-year-old from Roxbury on assault and larceny charges and seized multiple mopeds after responding to a report of a person with a gun.

Police responded to 25 Calder St. where a person told officers his moped was stolen. The person said he was able to track his moped and one owned by a friend to 22 Abbot St., police said.

“Shortly after, two suspects dressed in all black entered the rear of 25 Calder Street in an attempt to take the mopeds again. The suspects threatened the victims and they lifted up their shirts which revealed that they both had firearms inside their waistbands,” police said in a statement.

Officers saw multiple mopeds and trash barrels filled with moped parts when they visited 22 Abbot St., authorities said in a statement.

“After further investigation, officers observed a propped open door and located four individuals inside the residence. Two of the suspects were positively identified and placed into handcuffs. The other two individuals were promptly released and the apartment was secured pending a search warrant,” police said.

Police arrested Sebastian Fecu, 22, of Dorchester, and Nakeda Strothers, 32, of Roxbury, and charged them with assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit gun and larceny of auto accessory over $250.

Pill distributor sentenced to nine years in prison

A Haverhill man was sentenced Tuesday to nine years in prison for distributing tens of thousands of pills containing fentanyl and methamphetamine, federal prosecutors said.

Angel Joel Diaz, 36, was arrested in February 2023 while carrying a shopping bag containing 31,142 fentanyl pills separated into seven plastic bags, according to U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy’s Office.

The arrest came after Diaz provided thousands of counterfeit prescription pills to an undercover police officer on multiple occasions, including two instances in January and February 2023.

During a search of Diaz’s Haverhill residence after his arrest turned up two pill presses, thousands of pills, powder containing fentanyl and methadone, stamps used to make counterfeit pills, several masks, and chemicals used in manufacturing pills.

“In all, more than 6 kilograms of substances containing fentanyl, 381 grams of substances containing methamphetamine, and 81 grams of substances containing methadone were seized from Diaz,” federal prosecutors said in a statement.

Diaz pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, two counts of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, and one count of possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and methadone.
